What We Repair

Every Type of Stucco Damage

Twenty years of Toronto exteriors means we've seen it all. Here's what we fix — and how.

Hairline & Structural Cracks

Hairline cracks are cosmetic. Structural cracks are not. We assess depth and cause before recommending a repair — not a patch.

  • Shrinkage cracks
  • Settlement cracks
  • Thermal expansion cracks
  • Structural movement cracks

Spalling & Delamination

When stucco separates from the substrate or outer layers peel away, moisture has usually found its way behind the cladding. We remove the damaged section to the studs if needed and rebuild properly.

  • Surface delamination
  • Full-depth spalling
  • Hollow spots (sounding)
  • Substrate exposure

Freeze-Thaw & Water Damage

Toronto winters are hard on stucco. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles force water into micro-cracks, expanding them until sections fail. We waterproof and seal after every repair.

  • Freeze-thaw spalling
  • Saturated sections
  • Window and door perimeter leaks
  • Efflorescence (salt staining)

Impact Damage & Patching

Holes, dents, and impact damage from ladders, landscaping, or renovation work. We patch seamlessly and match texture — no visible repair lines.

  • Hole repair
  • Dent filling
  • Trim and corner damage
  • Renovation cut-in patches

Texture & Colour Matching

The hardest part of any stucco repair. Our crews are trained in hand-applied and spray textures — sand finish, dash, skip trowel, smooth — and mix custom colours on site.

  • Sand finish
  • Dash / roughcast
  • Skip trowel
  • Smooth finish
  • Custom colour mixing

Efflorescence Treatment

White chalky deposits on stucco are a sign of water moving through the wall, depositing salts as it evaporates. We treat the cause, not just the stain.

  • Chemical efflorescence removal
  • Source waterproofing
  • Sealant application
  • Stain prevention

How We Work

Our Repair Process

01

Free Site Assessment

We come to the property, walk the entire exterior, and use moisture meters and sounding to find hidden damage. No charge.

Damage Removal

We remove only the damaged material — cutting clean lines to prevent further cracking.

FAQ

Common Questions

How long does a stucco repair take?
Small to medium repairs (cracks, isolated spalling) typically take 1–2 days. Larger sections or full-wall replacements may take 3–5 days, plus curing time between coats.
Can you match my existing stucco texture?
Yes. Texture and colour matching is one of our core skills. We carry a full range of finish coats and mix colours on site. Perfect blending depends on the age and weathering of the existing stucco — we'll tell you what to expect upfront.
Do I need to repaint after the repair?
Not always. If your stucco is integral colour (pigment in the mix), a new paint coat is typically unnecessary. If the exterior has been painted, we'll match the paint colour — you may want to paint the whole wall for a uniform appearance.
What's the difference between a patch and a proper repair?
A patch fills the visible gap without addressing the cause. A proper repair removes all compromised material, inspects and addresses the moisture source, rebuilds with correct coat sequence, and matches finish. Patches fail within a few freeze-thaw cycles. Proper repairs last.
Is stucco repair covered by home insurance?
Sudden, accidental damage (storm, impact) is often covered. Gradual deterioration from maintenance neglect typically is not. We can provide detailed documentation and photos to support your insurance claim.
How much does stucco repair cost?
Small crack repairs start around $300–$500. Moderate spalling or water damage repairs typically run $1,000–$4,000. Large sections or multiple areas can reach $5,000+. We provide a fixed quote before any work begins.
